Tenerife strengthens its connection with Canada with year-round direct flights
Tenerife continues to expand its international connectivity. Air Canada has announced that its direct route between Tenerife and Montreal will operate throughout the year from June 2027, rather than being limited to a seasonal service. The airline plans to operate the route with its new Airbus A321XLR and will also maintain its direct Tenerife–Toronto service during the winter season.
The announcement is an important development for Tenerife's links with North America and creates new possibilities both for Canadian travellers and for the island's tourism sector.
An increasingly international destination
Tenerife has traditionally welcomed large numbers of visitors from European markets such as the United Kingdom, Germany, mainland Spain, Italy and the Nordic countries. Better connectivity with North America helps diversify the island's visitor markets and further increases its international visibility.
Tenerife is also much more than a sun-and-beach destination. Gastronomy, hiking, sport, wellness, nature, culture and ocean-based experiences are becoming an increasingly important part of the island's tourism offering.
That diversity is particularly attractive for long-haul visitors who want to make the most of their journey and experience several different sides of a destination.
